Writing a Book

I have long been a fan of following blogs of luminaries such as Charles Petzold, Chris Sells, and Brad Abrams, to just mention a few. I have been impressed by there writing both in their blogs as well as the printed pages of their books.

There are many areas of technology that intrigue me, a few that absolutely rapture my attention. In addition, I really do enjoy the process of organizing my thoughts that is required when I write about a certain topic, whether for a blog post, or for a memo/white-paper at work.

There is something satisfying about the written form of communication that I just don't get from any other form of communicating ideas -- maybe its because I think slow on my feet!

Anyway, I have been mulling over the idea of starting a book project. I have zero experience in professional writing and have no ideas as to whether I'd actually be able to gain the interest of a publisher or not. Heck, I don't even know where to start. Any ideas?
