Eleventh of September
A few from my list of daily reads:
I remember being awakened by a phone call by my mother who lives in south Florida. We at time time lived in San Francisco so we were still sleeping. I didn't really get what was going on while on the phone with her until I turned on the television. I was in disbelief of what I was seeing. I remember trying to call my friends that lived and worked in New York having no success.
I remember a tremendous since of unity with my fellow Americans, no matter the color of their skin, the political party they voted for most often, or any other petty division that we all to often fall into. I remember the common pride and nationalism that prevailed. Instead of hurting us, the terrorists actually ended up making us stronger, I believe.
That day and the weeks and months that followed made me an even prouder American.
