Play Like Tiger, Be Like Rocco

Sam Davidson writes:

Because at the end of the day, as much as I want to play like Tiger, I want to be like Rocco.

Here’s to hoping the drive to be the best doesn’t compromise the need to be ourselves.

I completely agree and thought that was well put. Read the rest of his post to put a little context to that quote. I admire both qualities — to be the very best in those things you find yourself doing, as well as, the character of humbleness and complete self-awareness.

Still No Recession…

Just don’t tell anyone…

Most people think we are in a recession

The doom-and-gloomers out there would have us believe that we are in a recession.

This remains factually incorrect.

With a growth in this most recent quarter, Q12008, of 0.6 %, it’s obvious that the economy is not booming, however, it is not shrinking either.

The classical definition of a recession:

If there are two consecutive quarters of decline in economic activity as measured by a decrease in GDP, the economy is said to be in a recession.

Why is it, I wonder that pundits argue that we are in a recession? Are they responding to the fact that most people now believe we are in a recession? Or are the politicians playing to a crowd?

The history Meme

Wireless Starbucks

I was pleasantly surprised to learn yesterday that I no longer had to pony up the $10 for day pass of WiFi access at my local Starbucks. AT&T DSL customers, of which I am, now can login with their DSL account/password to get free unlimited access.

I much prefer to work at Starbucks, instead of Panera — the caffeine is better at Starbucks — but Panera had been my only free WiFi option.
